FILM-MAKER ALAN PARKER COMES TO BRIGHTON

Brighton's monthly media event The Space boasts of hosting regular unique arts and media events in Brighton and more often than not they more than live up to the claim.

Where else would you get film-maker, Alan Parker, and Charlie Parsons, the creator of Channel 4's The Word, on the same platform. On Monday 18 October Brighton's The Space is doing just that.

Your Big Sussex Week - explore the wonders of Brighton

Your Big Sussex Week, from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 June, will be giving local people the chance to explore the wonders of Brighton and Hove at discounted rates.

There are over 100 businesses involved this popular annual event, including The Royal Pavillion, Orb 360, Theatre Royal as well as Regency, Graze and The Neo Hotel. It promises to be a week of discovery, activity and fun from wildlife to gardens, stately homes to fun fairs, local produce menus to mid-week breaks.

Brighton May Festival - What's On

Brighton.co.uk went along to the Brighton Festival launch party at the Dome to have a sneak preview of what we can expect from the world class arts festival this year!

Definitely not to be missed are Jarvis Cocker, Mike Leigh, Gore Vidal, Hanif Kureishi, Alex James of Blur, Manic Organic, Akram Khan Company with the National Ballet of China AND we really liked the look of Rider Spoke - off road theatre and you get to take your bike along!

So much to see and festival fringe program isn't out yet. May will undoubtedly be busier than ever for Brighton and we can't wait!

To encourage Londoners to visit during May, Southern will be running a special festival night train service with a train leaving Brighton at 23.19, so there's no excuse for missing out.

Launch of Brighton Festival 2008

The Brighton Festival 2008 celebrates it's official launch party tomorrow at the Brighton Dome. This year the festival runs from 3rd - 25th May and as always promises a colourful schedule of events and surprises.

The city of Brighton and Hove has seen a rapid growth in hotel rooms this year and visitors will have a fantastic choice of places to stay during the festival.
